John travis
PRESIDENT & FOUNDER
John Travis is the owner of J. Travis Painting and Travis Millwork, where he leads two Texas-based companies focused on high-quality commercial painting and millwork. A fifth-generation contractor, John grew up in the business and combines hands-on industry experience with a background in biomedical engineering and management consulting. Today, he oversees projects across Texas with a focus on excellence, innovation, and long-term customer relationships.
Todd Souers
Vice President of Operations
With more than 30 years of millwork and manufacturing experience, Todd Souers leads Comal Wood Products as Vice President of Operations. His career began on the shop floor as a temporary employee, where he developed a hands-on understanding of every step of the process and a deep respect for the craft.
Todd’s leadership style is grounded in service and continuous improvement—values that have built strong teams and lasting culture across every company he’s touched. Over the past decade, he’s helped two of Texas’ premier millwork firms expand their market presence and operational excellence through thoughtful guidance and a focus on people.
Before joining Comal, Todd served as Sales Manager for TWC Architectural Mouldings and Operations Manager at Delta Millworks, where he led teams on a wide range of innovative and high-profile projects. Outside of work, he and his wife, Kate, have shared life’s adventures together since 1994, raising eight wonderful children along the way.
Zach Souers
Production Manager
Utilizing 7+ years of manufacturing and millwork experience, Zach Souers serves as Comal Manor’s Production manager over Mill activities. His career begin as a part-time employee in the grinding room where Zach learned the craft of matching customer provided samples and creating tooling for moulders. Very quickly Zach moved into a supervisor role and learned hands on all of the ins and outs of a moulding shop while building a team of employees. Eventually Zach would go on to lead all of production and created a culture of accountability and a dedication to building and maintaining strong employee and customer relationships. Zach would then go on to work for Simpson Door as a Production Supervisor in Washington State where he was very quickly able to make break-throughs in efficiency and morale at a long-standing company while also helping Simpson set up their own internal shop to provide moulding products to their customers. Zach would be called back to join TWC Mouldings in their DFW plant as Operations Manager where he built up his prowess in an ever-expanding market helping deliver to customers. Zach’s hands-on experience and relationship building experience has led him to join a new venture at Comal where we hope to serve employees and Customers as partners in Comal’s ever-growing success.
Jake Dunn
Sales Representative
Jake Dunn is a Sales Representative at Comal Wood Products; he has over six years of customer relations experience and a strong focus on delivering solutions that fit each client’s exact needs.
Jake is committed to building lasting relationships through clear communication, timely follow-through, and precise attention to detail. His goal is to make the sales process smooth, efficient, and dependable—so every project moves forward with confidence. Jake enjoys spending time with his family and learning the evolving world of wood products.
